Coal is an essential industrial input across many industries, without which we wouldn’t have many of the technologies and products that are essential to daily living. While many jurisdictions in the World are phasing out the combustion of thermal coal as a primary source of power generation, there are several places in the World where coal is the safest, most reliable and most cost-effective option. At the same time, we understand that extraction, processing and transportation of coal could result in adverse environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts.
